Recent domestic migration in Nepal is dominated by the movement of females, with the migration rate of females (38.2%) almost double that of males (19.9%). These women are predominantly aged between 15 and 34, suggesting that economically active women are dominating recent internal migration (driven by marriage, employment, and education) from rural to urban areas (National Statistics Office, 2025).
