Wages for international migrants is increasing, with the average monthly migrant salary increasing from NPR 28,701 to NPR 58,856 between 2017 and 2022 (Dongol et. al., 2025), likely driven by re-migration of individuals seeking better opportunities and new migrants (with higher skill sets) migrating to newer, more lucrative destinations such as Eastern Europe, the UK, Malta, and Turkey (MoLESS, 2022).
