Nirmala's Garden Fundraiser - An Artistic Journey from Nature to Canvas – Creating Joy

  • Guys Cliffe Centre, Coventry Road Warwick, England, CV34 5YD United Kingdom (map)

Guys Cliffe Centre, Warwick, CV34 5YD. Saturday 29th November, 2025.

Join us for a magical day of creativity and community

Have you ever heard a child say, I am not creative? This is a day where we play, learn, laugh and connect over creating art with things we find in the garden, good food and dream of a society that is mentally, physically and socially well.

Led by Renowned Artist Garima Dhawan

-RISD alumna, licensing artist, and surface pattern designer who sells her work in stores ranging from Anthropologie, M&S, Ikea, John Lewis, NEXT, Target and more.

-Garima's artistic philosophy perfectly embodies our event: "The garden represents a field of infinite potential and unlimited possibilities." Her expertise in traditional printmaking, collage, and nature-inspired art will guide you through an unforgettable creative experience.

-She will introduce you to printing on a gelli plate, creating blends, creating textures, combining textures, using mask, using stencils, printing with hand carved wooden block, drawing, image transfer and collating it in the end to create your own masterpiece to be proudly displayed in the gallery for our art show end of the day.

THE ARTISTIC DAY | 10am - 4pm - Limited to 20 participants

What awaits you:

-Morning Garden Walk

*Explore the beautiful Guys Cliffe gardens, gathering leaves, twigs, and natural inspiration…we would love some flowers from the garden for the workshop.

-Hands-on Art Creation

*Have you ever wanted to have a go at drawing, painting or printmaking and found it too intimidating? I am Garima Dhawan and am currently selling my art and art-on-products in stores all over the world ranging from Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, M&S, NEXT, John Lewis, Dunelm, Target, Kohls, IKEA and more.

*I grew up in India, trained in fashion, worked with artisans all over India. I wanted to look at textiles and products from a fresh perspective. After a masters in textiles from Rhode Island School of Design, 2001-03, I worked as a designer with textile companies in San Francisco and New York. I was in a car accident 2013 and decided to step back and focus on creating my own artworks and sell and license with companies.

*Having two young kids during the covid years led me to experiment with the gelli plate. As a busy mom, I wanted to continue creating and licensing my art and fell in love with printmaking on a gelli plate. I have successfully taught more than 20 workshops and worked with people at all levels.

*Whether you are an experienced artist or have never done art, I will show you how to take care of your gelli plate, create textures, blend textures, blend colours, print with masks and stencils, use blocks and stamps, draw, do photo image transfers and just play. It will be a day of exploration and play and will enhance your art practice or just enable you to play with your kids and grandkids, or just introduce you to a whole new world and create new neural pathways in your brain that will inform other areas of your life.

*Art has been proven to be a powerful tool for expression, communication and understanding and can evoke emotions, convey ideas and shape how we see the world. It has been my go-to since I was a child and I would love to work with you. Together we will create this space of joy, learning and healing together in Nirmala’s Garden where everyone is included and everyone is welcome.
