What is visioning?:

It is allowing our purpose in life to come from within us by asking creative questions versus being defined by things outside of us, and creating vision boards based on what other people might have or be or what society paints as successful.

The Event:

In this workshop, we will start with the creative mindset, introduction to the gelli plate, creating textures with stamps, templates and found objects, layering colours from light to dark, working with markers and transferring drawings on the plate, magazine image transfers, experimenting with different kinds of papers, and using papers you create to collating them in a beautiful collage in the end to take home. It will be a journey of exploration, fun, play, discovery, visioning and falling in love with the art of gelli printing.

Your Host:

Garima Dhawan is a printmaker & licensing artist, and an alumna of RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), US. She lives and works in Leamington Spa. Her work is a combination of traditional printmaking techniques (silkscreen, block print, lino print, cyanotype, lithography gelli print) integrated with digital technology, to create a dialogue between the two worlds.

Her happy place it taking walks in nature, collection leaves flowers, twigs, printing them up in her studio and creative collages with them to create her own world full of colours and shapes and the silences within. Her work sells at stores ranging from Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Target, Nordstrom, Kohl's, Bed, Bath & Beyond to NEXT, IKEA, Habitat , John Lewis, M&S and more.

Tickets for this event are £65 (+ £1.50 booking fee) for the day.
