Doors Open! ~
New Futures Nepal is proud to announce the completion of its transformative £100,000 building project. A custom-built residential facility (named Mandala House) situated on Hope Centre land, Kathmandu, and designed to comfortably accommodate up to six adults with disabilities as well as a member of support staff and their family. Having worked tirelessly for a year and through some adverse conditions, our construction and monitoring teams have completed the main aspects of the project and the building has been furnished and decorated to a high standard. All residents had moved into the completed building by mid-March 2025. Mandala House will also serve as a valuable community resource for those with support needs and represent a model for similar adult supported-living projects in Nepal.
Join us when we discussed why this was such an important project.
On the 20th November 2024, municipality officials (including the Ward Chair of Gokarneshwor Municipality), as well as Hope Centre neighbors and local social workers, attended a blessing ceremony of the newly revealed Mandala House building. This was attended by our UK-based project advisor David Rivers and his son Charlie. Find out all the details in our Blessing Ceremony Update.
The doors of Mandala House were fully opened to its residents in March 2025. See the Mandala House Family’s Welcome to Its New Home.

The current fundraising total for this project is £63,518 and we would like to thank all of our generous donors for their generosity. We are however facing a £36,500 shortfall of total project costs of £100,000. We also need your help to maintain Mandala House as both a residential home and community resource, and ensure that the building is fully sustainable (by installing solar panels and a water-purification system). We therefore welcome your continued donations.
Our project planning and advisory team were recently on hand for the blessing ceremony of the completed building.
The contruction phase of this project was overseen by former Hope Centre family member and Architectural Engineer Suman Shrestha. Suman’s story
This visionary project harmonises seamlessly with our organisational ethos, as it resonates profoundly with our mission to provide comprehensive support to individuals with disabilities during their transition to full integration into the community. In essence, it represents a sustainable solution to the multifaceted challenges they encounter at this crucial juncture in their lives.
The establishment of this design-led facility is poised to yield significant benefits. Not only will it safeguard the well-being of our residents, ensuring that their unique needs are met with the utmost care and dedication, but it will also serve as a beacon of New Futures Nepal's unwavering commitment to compassionate care and social responsibility.
To bring this monumental undertaking to fruition, New Futures Nepal earnestly seeks funding support from both individual and corporate donors. We wholeheartedly believe that by uniting in purpose, we can collectively elevate the quality of life for these remarkable individuals and demonstrate the power of positive change. Your contribution will be instrumental in actualizing this transformative vision.
Join us in shaping a future that embraces diversity, fosters empowerment, and celebrates inclusivity. Together, we can pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.
